ON-EXCHANGE
By shop and compare your insurance through healthsherpa.com, healthcare.gov, or coveredca.com, you will see how much you are getting the premium tax credit applies to you. The premium tax credit (PTC) helps eligible individuals and families afford health insurance coverage purchased through the Marketplace. After submitting an application to the Marketplace, an individual may be determined eligible to receive PTC which is an amount paid by the government to an individual’s insurance company to reduce the amount the individual must pay each month for coverage.
OFF-EXCHANGE
If your think you income is too high or you do not want to shop with the On-Exchange marketplace, you can shop the Off-Exchange marketplace. However, ACA Subsidies are not available Off-Exchange. Premium tax credit (PTC)Subsidies and cost-sharing reductions (cost-sharing subsidies) are only available if you shop in the On-Exchange. Either you’re buying an individual/family major medical health insurance policy, it will be fully compliant with the ACA.
